Bark and Breakdown is a comedy series about two best friends, Maria and Deidra, who unravel the secrets that lead to the end of their close friendship. Created, written by and starring Alexandra Adaolisa.

 

We explore  the unhealthy dynamic between Maria and Deidra. The pilot begins with Maria's dream exposing her resentments towards her best friend Deidra. Waking up inspired, Maria confronts Deidra and ends

their friendship.

 

 

From there, the audience is privy to the trippy interpretations each woman has of the events that occured in their friendship . Bark and breakdown plays on different genres of storytelling to reveal the feelings they won't share aloud.

 

 

Processing the end of their friendship must include the end of their friendship circle. Daniel and Rachel are the two other fallen friends who were sexy fun people to form a group with, until things got a bit too sexy and less fun.

 

 

Their cultural and sexual identities impact them in ways they did not consider before. We see how they process their broken friendships through laughter..
